Hyperhidrosis BOTOX® Treatment
BOTOX® is injected into the skin to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating (severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis) when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough in people 18 years and older.
Hyperhidrosis is a problem that can cause awkward social situations as it is excessive sweating and is sometimes accompanied by bad odor. There are many remedy for excessive sweating ranging from topical to oral medications, iontophoresis, and surgery. These have been able to control a sweaty body but are not that effective. So to the rescue of the patients come botox treatments that even prevent the sweating.
Dr Berens will use BOTOX® to reduce sweating and make a series of small injections that paralyze the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. The treatment should last 6-9 months. The cost varies, because the amount of BOTOX® required to treat each patient varies.
